Things Thursday

Good Morning lovelies!

I'm feeling kinda random this morning so I'm joining in on the Things Thursday blog post. But I don't know how many random thoughts I'll come up with yet so its just TT.

1.  I'm vitamin crazy these days, yes I might just turn into a tree hugging, birkenstock wearing granola freak! I just love how well they work for so many things and without the crazy side effects of so many drugs. (That being said - i still have my vicodin on the top shelf just in case!) I take: magnesium, feverfew, fish oil, Coq10, B2 and B6 as well as probiotics.

2. Along the lines of my vitamin craze I just subscribed to the digital version of "Natural Health" magazine.

3. Finally, the last of my vitamin randomness, I just bought a supplement called, Emerita Libido Formula. Yup its for the libido. I blush as I type.  www.emerita.com  It contains damiana leaf and muira puama - basically I'm tired of fighting off my horny hubby and am going with the addage: "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em"  I'll let you know how it goes.

4. I am down 10lbs from my bout with migraines through Christmas, as I've said before it is my silver lining. I love wearing smaller sizes and I love the number on the scale BUT here's what I've learned. I'm pear shaped, I'll always be pear shaped. I have the dreaded cellulite and lighter or heavier its still there. So, when I gain back the ten pounds and I probably well, I am at a bit of an unrealistic weight here, I will just be a fuller version of the skinny me. I just need to embrace it.

5. My DD had her first TOM in October. Yup 10.5yrs old. Holy donkey balls. Freaked me out, even though I was expecting it sort of.  She's gone 35 days, 28 days, and is now at 21 days. Shit in 3 months at this rate she'll have no off time?!! WTH?
Anyhoo, the good news is, her mood swings have completely evened out, she was completely off the charts before but now its soo much better. Hold on to that thought all mothers of daughters!

6. I'm loving your comments. Thanks Laura, and Kelly. Kelly - I've gotta find some of those Moonlight DVD's. Love me some Alex O'Loughlin.  Laura - I'm not 2 months on the dry wagon by choice, the side effects of alcohol and my anti-anxiety meds (that's a whole stupid post on its on) would be ugly!! So in 5 days when I'm off my meds I can and will enjoy a Mikes Hard lemonade and probably the resulting buzz - because I'll be an even cheaper drunk!!

7. Short and Sweet: I have great respect for those who have anxiety disorders. Its awful. When I get I full blown, praying to the Gods migraine, I also have anxiety attacks. So my doc put me on anti-anxiety meds.  She also wants me to talk to a therapist about my anxiety.  Here's the skinny:  I DON'T HAVE ANXIETY (unless I'm sick).   My doc obviously isn't a mom and doesn't get migraines. All moms everywhere worry that they won't be able to look after their kids the way they want when they're sick.  Nuff said

8. Last randomness for today: I have a chiropractic appt. tomorrow. My neck is not right. I have used a chiropractor before with good results but I am very nervous about having adjustments on my neck. I have promised myself that tomorrow will be a consult only. See what he thinks is wrong and hear what he thinks will make it all better.

So it ended up being 8 things Thursday!  I'm off to IHOP with the kiddos.
See you tomorrow for BYOC.

BYOC

BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy! (two days late)

BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy! Brought to us by the wonderful Draz! 5 little questions we answer to give our blogging brains a break and to get to know each other better. Copy and paste to your own blog and enjoy!

1. If money and time wasn't a problem - name a place you'd go on vacation and for how long?
I'd like to see Greece and recently, probably thanks to Alex O'Loughlin, Hawaii. (sigh, drool, sigh)
Image Detail(Hawaii Five -O)
2. This week I had a discussion with some friends about names our children or other people we know call the "nether regions". Don't hate - it's funny. So let's share them for a laugh. Any creative words for hoohaa and tallywhacker you think we haven't heard yet?
The boys privates we have a million names for: peeps, hammer.....pen - ile (like pen and Nile), the girls not so many, although my nephew calls the girls privates: vanigle ( like van and Nigel), my friend calls it bacon and boys parts sausage. Imagine his daughters surprise when she asked about my bacon and I told her it was in the freezer!!
3. Take a picture of your nails right now! Bossy, aren't I? I just had my nails done - I can't help it. I neeeed to show someone

I love this pic of my hand it doesn't show how ragged my cuticles are, or how large my knuckles are!!! I'd love to have a french manicure all the time but I'm a nail biter. Such a terrible habit.

4. Tell me about the weather right now where you are!
Right now its beautiful, cold but it was bright today which always feels great. We had several inches of snow and the kids went sledding today so they were happy.
5. Repeat question. Summarize your week in real life and blog land.
Real life is good, I worked one day in the school office, which I really like.  I volunteered at the nature rehab place and that was fun too. Unfortunately we got several new animals in this week with a variety of injuries, illnesses including a great horned owl with strep and a horrible staph infection!!
In blog land I've been reading but haven't written much. I'm loving hearing about the hunky husband weight loss challenge that Laura's doing, and Drazil's gluten free adventures, and of course our motivating workout diva, kelly!

WTH!!! You want me to do what?!!

Okay so I'm starting to feel better: the sinus infection is running its course, I have 4 days of antibiotics left. The headache is minimal. But I want to avoid feeling this bad again or for as long as possible soo I'm working on some preventative stuff.
I am taking many supplements, drink WAY more water than I used to (64oz up from maybe 16oz). I haven't had a drop of alcohol since the headaches started in November.
I know I get hormonal migraines, and sometimes the weather plays a role too but I don't think food is a trigger. Anyhoo I went to the natural health food store yesterday to ask some questions. The guru there suggesting elminating dairy, peanuts, chocolate, caffine...... which I knew she would BUT then she came out with the kicker, you ready for this...... maybe I should try a coffee enema.  WTF Seriously!!!! The only way coffee enters this body is through the mouth!!!  Google it if you dare.
I have drawn the line in my quest for natural remedies!!
And that, my lovelies, is your thought for the day!  Enjoy!

Christmas Presents

Christmas was wonderful ( I still had many days where the headache won the war, but if I had to be uncomfortable it was nice to be surrounded by family).
These are the girls in my family (my aunt is in purple, my mom  in the middle, my beautiful niece on her lap, my bestie and sister on the right, and my baby girl in front)

Here are the grandkids: my sweet boy top left, my dad in black and my nephew on the right.  We spent almost everyday together =  HEAVEN!!

Now on to the other stuff!! I've been watching the show, Hawaii Five-O but didn't realize it was season 2 so Santa kindly put season 1 in my stocking! More Alex O'Loughlin!!
My favourite chocolates!!! One a Day  :)

My sweet daughter bought a dolphin charm for me because she loves dolphins, my sister picked up the clock to remind me to be patient with my health.
From my sister: Can't wait to watch this - just me and my elliptical.

Hope you got everything you wished for!!
Happy New Year
